Biography

Gregorio (Greg) Antonio Francis, a respected attorney, has earned recognition for his leadership in the area of Civil Rights. The National Bar Association awarded him the Vince Monroe Townsend Legends Award and designated him as a Game Changer by Politic365. Francis is currently the lead counsel for the historic Black Farmers case. The case is a national class action that challenged the ongoing unfair treatment of Black Farmers in the United States. The outcome of this case was a settlement of $1.25 billion. It helped almost 20,000 Black farmers or their descendants. It is the largest settlement of a Civil Rights case in the history of the American Civil Justice system.In 1994, Francis began his legal career. He focused on defending medical malpractice, nursing homes, and municipalities.

Afterward, he joined the law firm of Morgan and Morgan, P.A. There, he specialized in cases involving medical malpractice, police misconduct, and wrongful or catastrophic personal injury. He helped open new offices in Atlanta and Jackson and was the manager of the Jackson office. Francis partnered with Joseph A. Osborne to form their own firm, Osborne & Francis, PLLC, in 2018. They handle cases involving faulty products, medical devices, drugs, medical errors, and personal harm.

Born in the Panama Canal Zone, Francis moved to the United States as a child. In 1986, he graduated with honors from Oak Ridge High School. Then, in 1991, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida. Finally, in 1994, he obtained a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Law School. During law school, he received many awards and became a Justice on the University of Florida Board of Masters and the Florida Blue Key Leadership Society honored him.
